A growing body of research suggests that a range of regenerative farming practices can contribute to biological, physical and chemical transformations in soil that in turn can increase water storage, improving resilience to droughts, floods, and extreme weather conditions. University of Nebraska researchers sought to identify which ag practices provide the greatest benefit to soil water infiltration in side by side comparisons of alternative and conventional practices. This is a summary of the results of a systematic review of research studies from six continents analyzing the effect of 5 regenerative ag. practices: no-till, cover crops, crop rotations, planting perennials and cropland grazing.
